The weather forecast heats up again for Stanislaus County. What else is predicted?

The Northern San Joaquin Valley can expect more hot weather for the final week of July.

The National Weather Service forecast has thrown into the mix a slight chance of thunderstorms late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The chance of showers and thunder activity is no higher than 20%.

For Modesto, the Weather Service predicts afternoon temperatures in the high 90s through Thursday and then a hotter weekend, with 100 degrees projected for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The southern part of Stanislaus County will be warmer. Turlock is expected to hit 100 degrees Thursday and then 101 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

According to the Modesto Irrigation District, the temperatures forecast for this week are higher than normal. The historic average high for July 25 (Monday) is 94 degrees, compared to the forecast of 97.

The Valley’s air quality could see some impacts from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County near Yosemite.

Monday, the air pollution forecast was unhealthy for sensitive groups in Merced County. The air quality remained in the moderate range for Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties on Monday.
