Cool days in the rearview mirror for Modesto, weather service says. How hot will it get?
On the heels of a record cool day, temperatures in Modesto are predicted to climb quickly to a week of largely triple-digit highs.
Friday reached just 72 degrees — a record minimum high temperature for June 17, according to Modesto Irrigation District weather archives. Saturday was 76, the third-lowest high temperature on record for June 18.
Sunday’s high was predicted by the National Weather Service to jump 10 degrees to 86, which is shy of the average high temperature of 90 degrees for June 19.
The rest of this week, however, will be nothing but daily highs above the seasonal average. MID archives show that for the dates of June 20-26, the average high is 90-91 degrees.
Monday should reach near 93, according to the Weather Service. Tuesday is expected to reach near 100.
As for the rest of the week, the predicted highs are near 103 Wednesday, 101 Thursday, 104 Friday and 100 Saturday.
