Clouds may start to gather as little princesses, pirates, spirits and superheroes trick-or-treat Sunday evening in Modesto, but they’ll stay dry, according to the National Weather Service.

Any rain that falls over the area won’t start before Monday, the seven-day forecast shows.

And a post on the Facebook page of the weather service’s Sacramento office says, “We are expecting below normal temperatures across NorCal through the first week of November.”

Monday carries a 40% chance of rain afer 11 a.m., and less than a 10th of an inch is expected. The high temperature should be near 66.

By Monday night, the chance of rain drops to 30%, before 11 p.m.

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be partly to mostly sunny, with a high near 70 degrees each day.

Wednesday night, though, the chance of rain returns and continues into Thursday, before 11 a.m.

After that, there’s a slight chance of showers Thursday, which otherwise will be mostly sunny. The high should be near 68.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, Modesto could receive up to a quarter inch of rain, the weather service says.

A mostly sunny returns for the rest of the week, with highs near 65 Friday and 66 Saturday.

According to Modesto Irrigation District weather records, the average temperature each day from Nov. 1-4 is 71 degrees. The average for Nov. 5-6 is 69 degrees.
