Words from the Senior Class President Mario Jauregui Jr: “My senior year was nothing short of an amazing year. From becoming the top dogs and being the leaders of our school, my senior year was on track to be one of the best years of my life. Who would have known our senior year would be derailed and cut short by three months! With that being said, some good did come out of this all. This really made me think about life, and how we can never be fully prepared for anything that gets thrown our way, but we can deal with it and overcome it. To me, what made my senior year the most memorable, and what I will miss most about my senior year are the people I shared that year with. From my classmates to my best friends and my girlfriend, they are what I will remember and miss most about my senior year. From the homecoming rallies to beating our rivals in soccer on our senior night, the most special part about these memories are the people I made them with. What I will miss most about my senior year is that it was the final stretch of us making memories together.”

Words from Principal Bruce Sawyer: “Three things. First of all, if our current situation has taught us anything, it is that life is unpredictable. We can pay attention in class, work hard, make positive choices – do everything right – but there are some things outside of our control. Build in yourself the capacity to respond to negatives in positive ways. Some would call this “grit”, and it only develops through effort, failure, and more effort. Excellence happens on purpose! The current state of our world has also shown very vividly how connected we are to each other. Even things that happen on the other side of the world have an impact on us. Find ways to help. Imagine the impact our efforts have on others, especially those in need. Finally, to accomplish the first two pieces of advice, always keep God at the center of your life. This is not done by chance. We have to make a conscious effort to find God in the little things, the everyday, mundane happenings. If we see God in all things, we will survive our failures, and rejoice in our common humanity.”
