Words from Senior Class President Elizabeth Barkus: “The thing I will remember most about my senior year is the memories I made with my classmates. From homecoming to lunch rallies, the Beyer Class of 2020 really came together for our last year. Although the end of our “senior season” did not look how we imagined the beginning of it was great and full of positive times. I will never forget the feeling of being on the field when seniors won powder puff, being in the pool when water polo won league, leading the Red Sea while our football team took us to victory, attending our fall formal, cheering on our basketball team, and especially winning our last homecoming with the best spirit (and coolest hallway). I’ll always remember how my senior year was full of amazing memories filled with some of the best kids I have ever met. We may not have gotten to end our high school careers the way we wanted to, but what I will think back on the most is the coming together of my class and the great memories we made.”
Words from Principal Dan Park: “Beyer Seniors, in the face of great disappointment with the way your senior year ended, you, the graduating class of 2020, handled it with great dignity and poise. As the upperclassmen on campus, you provided the underclassmen, your fellow Patriots, with a true example of how men and women handle themselves in adverse situations. You improvised, advocated for alternatives, exhibited a mature patience when alternatives were not always available, and finished your tasks and responsibilities for the year in an orderly fashion. At the risk of sounding negative, I am certain that this will not be the last disappointment that comes along in your lives. However, if you will handle those future setbacks with the same grace, dignity and strength of character that you did this year when some of the most significant events in your senior year were stolen away from you, you will be successful in life. It has been a privilege to watch you manage yourselves in the face of this adversity!”
