Graduation 2020: eCademy Charter High student list, words from students, principal
School Name: eCademy Charter at Crane School
Number of graduates: 36
Words from senior Mia Sims: “Something I will definitely miss about senior year will be keeping my countdown for school days left until graduation. The nerves and excitement behind those numbers will likely never be matched. Everybody, even my teachers, believed I was keeping count because I was rushing to finish up the year and move on. In reality, I was keeping count because I was afraid that if I didn’t, time would fly by without me noticing how fast it was going. I wanted to really take in my last year of high school and appreciate everything about it. I walked into class each week determined to enjoy the environment and really absorb what I was being taught like I never had before. I didn’t want to graduate and regret not having taken in every bit of the experience as much as I could have. I feel as though I failed to do that in the years leading up to my senior year, so this one was definitely meant to make up for it. There is no doubt in my mind that I will always miss being able to call eCademy Charter my school and my second home.”
Words from Principal Tim Norton: “As Principal, not having the day-to-day opportunities to see the students is a huge hurdle, and ending the school year without a formal closing is breaking my heart along with the hearts’ of the staff. The end of the year activities form lasting memories that unfortunately, we will not be able to participate in. With the school suspension, the best advice I can give our graduates is: to remain positive in all that you do. To take every day as a learning experience, and to grow, daily, as a strong individual. Perseverance, grit, commitment, and enthusiasm have gotten you through this pandemic, and knowing how far you have come, the years ahead of you will be filled with wonderful experiences. Take this school closure as a way to view the world differently, as a way to expand your horizons, and to learn how to take on new challenges. Congratulations to the Class of 2020. You will do great things!!!”
