Presidential candidate Sanders to visit Modesto

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will visit Modesto on Thursday, his campaign announced Tuesday.

The appearance, set at Modesto Centre Plaza, was included in an updated tour schedule for Sanders. The Vermont senator has been crisscrossing California recently ahead of next week’s presidential primary.

According to a press release, doors to “A Future to Believe In Modesto Rally” will open at 9 a.m. Sanders will bring a “special guest,” actress Susan Sarandon, the release said.

The event is free and open to the public, but those who want to attend are encouraged to RSVP. Those who want to RSVP may do so by clicking here.

Attendees will not be allowed to carry bags and are encouraged to bring only small items such as cellphones and keys. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed. The public will enter through the doors at 10th and K streets.
