In early election results, Stanislaus County Supervisor Grewal holds strong lead
Stanislaus County Supervisor Mani Grewal held a commanding lead Tuesday night in his campaign for another term.
In early, unofficial results, Grewal was leading with 76.5% in a partial tally over challenger Jennifer “Rally” Valenzuela, who had 23.5%.
Grewal represents District 4, which includes a large portion of Modesto and Del Rio. The businessman, farmer and former Modesto City Council member sought reelection on a platform of economic growth.
“I want to continue to work on what I have done, making sure our community feels safe and has economic opportunities for ourselves and our loved ones,” Grewal said. “That is what I have strived for during my time on the City Council and Board of Supervisors.”
Grewal initially was appointed to the board in 2021 following the death of supervisor and former state legislator Tom Berryhill. He was elected to a four-year term in 2022.
Valenzuela is an in-home care provider who ran for the seat to make county government more transparent and improve access to services for residents.
Grewal has said that given another term, he will keep using his business acumen to assist with county budgeting. Other priorities are bringing high-paying jobs to Stanislaus County, ensuring public safety and investments in public infrastructure.
Supervisor Terry Withrow ran unopposed for a fifth term on the Board of Supervisors, which will begin in early January.
