Want to hear from, speak to your federal, state, local officials? Turlock forum’s the place
Residents can interact with federal, state and local representatives Wednesday at the annual Government Night in Turlock.
Rep. John Duarte of the 13th Congressional District, state Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil of the 4th Senate District and Assemblyman Juan Alanis of the 22nd District are scheduled to speak and answer questions from the audience. All three were elected in November 2022.
Other speakers will include Turlock Mayor Amy Bublak and Stanislaus County Supervisor Vito Chiesa, who organizes the event “bringing government to the people.”
The town hall-style gathering is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Carnegie Arts Center, 250 N. Broadway Ave., Turlock.
A county news release said the speakers will talk about regional issues and legislative priorities that affect the community.
“One thing we all have in common is that we serve people, and you cannot do that without listening and engaging,” Duarte said in the news release. “We are here to serve you and I encourage open communication so that I understand the issues facing California’s 13th Congressional District when I am back in Washington, D.C.”
Seating for the free event is limited to facility capacity. The event is also available through Zoom. Meeting ID is 869 1098 7286; password is 047807.
