Senior cat ‘desperately craves’ a home after feeling invisible, Pennsylvania shelter says
A domestic short hair cat is in need of a new home after months of being overlooked at a Philadelphia shelter.
Speedo, a 15-year-old sweetheart, lived a life of comfort until his owner got sick and could no longer care for the tabby any longer, his pet profile said. Now, he “desperately craves” another home.
“Speedo has been waiting months for someone to notice him,” the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said in a March 12 Facebook post. “Being almost 16 years old, this shouldn’t be the case.”
“At this stage of Speedo’s life, he simply craves a quiet, soft place to lay and feel safe. He is often just resting quietly in his kennel, never drawing much attention to himself. He will come around for his favorite snacks, but the truth is, Speedo is just an older cat who isn’t looking for too much. His world has changed so many times and now all he wants is to settle down and feel loved.”
According to his pet profile, the feline might come off as scared at first since the shelter is a chaotic place for him.
“Please be patient with me, because I may be a little scared here, as that was the only home I knew. Once you get to know me, I am incredibly affectionate and lovable!!” his profile says.
