AJ Brown — the pup, not NFL star — needs a new home after 2 years in shelter. Meet him
While NFL wide receiver A.J. Brown has been making headlines for the Philadelphia Eagles’ passing game since arriving two seasons ago, another A.J. Brown has been ignored for about the same time.
Despite his playful nature, this A.J. Brown, a Terrier, pit bull mix, has been constantly overlooked inside his kennel at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for almost two years now, and no one can understand why.
“A.J. is a vibrant and spirited pup, exuding boundless energy and an enthusiasm for life,” his pet profile says. “His playful nature knows no bounds, as he eagerly bounds about in pursuit of his beloved toys. A.J. thrives on companionship and relishes the opportunity to spend quality time with his human friends, forming deep bonds built on trust and affection.”
But slowly, A.J.’s light is starting to dim without a family to dote on him.
“Unlike the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, our A.J. Brown has been watching from the sidelines for far too long,” the shelter said in an Oct. 22 Facebook video that shows the pup sadly peering out of his kennel.
“Next month will mark two whole years that he’s been searching for a home. Sadly, A.J Brown is rarely asked about, but we hope that will change today. He deserves a chance.”
A.J. would do better in an all-adult household with no other pets so his charisma can shine, his profile says.
McClatchy News reached out to the Philadelphia Eagles for a comment but did not get an immediate response.
For more information on A.J. or other adoptable pets, visit the shelter’s website.
