A 2-year-old was rescued after falling into an elevator shaft, Georgia officials say.

Atlanta firefighters said they responded to a home in Atlanta around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, after the toddler fell two stories into an elevator shaft.

When rescuers got to the home, they found the toddle upside-down pinned between the wall of the shaft and the elevator car, the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said in a statement. Firefighters turned the power off and were able to remove the child from the shaft.

The 2-year-old sustained minor injuries and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
