Aunt found dead under clothes after fight with niece to clean their home, CA cops say
A missing woman was found dead under a pile of clothes after fighting with her niece about housework, California police said.
Leticia Hernandez, 52, was reported missing by family members Feb. 25 after they hadn’t heard from her for over a day, the Chula Vista Police Department said.
That evening, police investigated her residence on East Prospect Street and found her body under a pile of clothing in her bedroom, police said. She had minor injuries on her face.
Investigators determined Hernandez got in an argument with Elizabeth Memea, her 32-year-old niece, about cleaning their residence, police said.
“During the argument, Memea then attacked Hernandez by choking and eventually killing her,” police said in a news release.
She was arrested and charged with murder, police said.
Police said no additional details will be released on the incident.
