Florida mansion has a secret Harry Potter room. Take a look — if you can find it
The much anticipated “Harry Potter” reunion special took HBO by storm and left fans of the films were delighted as former cast members Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and the rest of the gang got together on the screen one last time.
But for Muggles looking for more of a permanent Potter fix, there’s a nifty mansion in Reunion, Florida, that hides its very own chamber of secrets behind a rotating brick wall. It’ll cost you $5.6 million, however.
“When you arrive on the top floor of this property, there’s a railway train tunnel,” listing agent Penny Stokes-Hilton said to Realtor.com regarding the house’s secret room. “It’s wonderful for kids and adults to go onto that top floor. It takes your breath away.”
That’s right, the house has its very own life size replica of the Hogwarts Express train on platform 9 3/4, complete with sleeping quarters, according to the listing.
And that’s not the only surprise in the eight-bedroom, 10.5-bathroom mansion.
There’s also Marvel gaming room and a “Beauty and the Beast” bedroom.
Other delightful features inside and outside the 8,986-square-foot home include:
Floating double staircase
Covered balconies
Pool
Fire pit
“Vanishing edge glass tile hot tub”
Billiards room
Theater
According to Realtor, the house is located within 10 miles of Walt Disney World, so the current owner is looking to appeal to those on vacation looking for a short team rental.
The mansion also has stunning views of a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.
But we all know the real magic comes from that wondrous Harry Potter room.
“It’s just magical,” Stokes-Hilton told Realtor. “I’ve never seen anything like it before in my life, and I doubt I ever will again.”
