A “bomb cyclone” unleashed strong winds and heavy rain as it tore through the northern West Coast, causing massive power outages and mudslides and downing trees.

One Washington driver was nearly crushed by a large falling tree Monday evening in Bellevue. Another vehicle caught the moment on their dash cam and shared it on Twitter.

The videos shows a tree topple over a moving white car extending past at least four lanes.

Seconds before the tree fell over, multiple cars passed.

The driver suffered minor injuries Bellevue Police Department said in a tweet. And road closures lasted a few hours.

Bomb cyclones are rapidly intensifying storms where the pressure drops rapidly..

The storms began last Thursday and brought powerful winds with 30 to 40 mph south winds and gusts as high as 55 mph, the National Weather Service in Seattle reported.

As of Tuesday, the Washington coast continues to see rain with less strong wind. Though heavy rain and “minor flooding” can be expected through Thursday, the weather service said.

Another tree toppled over a car on Sunday. But the incident was fatal, killing the two passengers on a winding road near Issaquah.

“It’s a freak accident,” Sgt. Tim Meyer, a King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told The Seattle Times. “Just a moment or two’s difference could have drastically changed how this ended.”
