Health care workers and first responders can get a discount on gas at BP

BP is offering a major discount on gasoline to help those on the front line of the battle against coronavirus, the company says.

“Thank you for being on the front lines and keeping our communities healthy and safe. We are honored to be supporting you and helping you get where you need to go,” the company said in a release.

First responders, doctors, nurses and hospital workers can get a 50-cent per gallon discount on their next trip to a BP or Amoco gas station by verifying their community status on ID.me here, according to the release.

Front-line workers will get a discount code that they can enter at the pump by:

  1. Pressing cancel

  2. Entering the code

  3. Pressing enter

  4. Following on-screen prompts

The codes can also be used inside the store by pressing Loyalty ID key on the PIN pad, the release said.

Codes are limited to two per person and can be claimed through April 30. They must be used by June 30.

BP is asking people who aren’t front-line workers to help spread the word to those who are by sharing bp.com/localheroes and writing personal thank yous on social media using #bpsupportslocalheroes.
