Toasty temperatures don’t daunt Turlock walkers
Suddenly toasty conditions didn’t put a damper on the Emanuel Mile walk in Turlock on Wednesday, but the sharp rise in temperatures definitely was noticeable.
Staff members at the Turlock hospital took part in the outing to commemorate National Walking Day. It landed on the warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures inching near 90 late in the afternoon.
The rest of the week is expected to be much cooler, with National Weather Service forecasters predicting a high of 82 on Thursday and then dropping down to 71 by Friday.
Rain is possible starting Thursday night, with forecasters calling for “likely showers” by Friday. By Sunday, the high in Modesto is expected to be only 69 degrees.
Forecasters call for a slight chance of showers into next week.
