Turlock police arrest suspect after he jumped from moving car

Police arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly got out of a moving car and tried to run away during a chase.

According to police reports, Nicholas Hays was driving a stolen car when officers spotted him.

He led police on a chase into Denair, where he got out of the car and tried to run away. The car hit a pole and police caught Hays.

He was arrested on charges of evading arrest, hit and run, possession of burglary tools and possession of methamphetamine.
