It’s the middle of summer, but one of Turlock’s major fall features is already taking shape.

Corn stalks have sprouted at the R.A.M. Farms corn maze on Daubenberger Road near Canal Drive. Members of the Macedo family, which runs the maze, are out in the morning and evening hours cutting down the little stalks in order to make the maze.

Karen Macedo said the family uses GPS devices to ensure precise cutting. As the rest of the stalks grow, they form the design.

Macedo said she wasn’t sure if the design selected this year should be made public yet, but apparently it’s going to be out of this world.
