Turlock man dies after two-vehicle crash on South Washington Road

A 67-year-old Turlock man died Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on South Washington Road, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Officers responded around 3:45 p.m. March 7 to the 1300 block of South Washington Road, where they found two vehicles with significant damage, police spokesperson Dominique Sanchez said.

One of the drivers, later identified as Jose Blancas, was trapped in his vehicle.

Firefighters with the Turlock Fire Department removed Blancas from the wreckage, but despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the scene, Sanchez said.

The occupants of the other vehicle cooperated with investigators. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Turlock Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details were immediately available.
