Turlock firefighters thanked with sandwiches
Gratitude for the Turlock Fire Department was expressed in an anonymous gesture to three of its firefighters at a Mr. Pickles on Wednesday.
When the crew of Engine 34 – a captain, a firefighter and an engineer – went to pay for their sandwiches and drinks at the restaurant on Geer Road, they were told that the woman in line in front of them had already paid.
The woman had asked the cashier not to tell the crew until she left, said Capt. Kain Packwood.
Since they couldn’t thank her in person, Packwood posted on the the Turlock firefighter’s Facebook page: “This thoughtful citizen left before we had the opportunity to say thank you. Once again we are reminded how fortunate we are to serve the citizens of Turlock.”
