Turlock police investigating late-night hit-and-run that killed pedestrian
A man estimated to be in his 30s died at the scene after being struck on a Turlock street late Monday. Turlock police are investigating the hit-and-run, department spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley said, and no suspect and vehicle have been identified.
About 11:44 p.m., fire crews responded to the 1200 block of Geer Road following a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash, according to a Modesto/Stanislaus/Turlock fire department incident summary. They were advised it was a hit-and-run with CPR having been started on the victim.
Fire crews performed CPR for about 15 minutes until an American Medical Response ambulance crew took over. “Medical care was stopped shortly afterwards with the patient being deceased due to the injuries sustained,” the incident report said.
