Police radio traffic details officers’ response to stabbing at Turlock High
Turlock Police radio traffic gives insight into how officers responded to a stabbing at Turlock High School on Friday morning.
A 6 minute and 45 second audio clip starts when dispatcher relays to officers that a student was stabbed by another student and ends when paramedics are cleared to enter the high school on Canal Drive to render aid to the victim.
According to the radio traffic, the victim was stabbed multiple times with a knife that had a blade about 2.5 to 3 inches long. He ran to the nurse’s office covered in blood and was eventually taken by helicopter to a hospital.
School staff called 911 and also alerted the school resource officer. The SRO sprinted across campus and, within minutes, is heard on the radio reporting that she’d detained the suspect.
