UPDATE: Authorities find missing 15-year-old girl in Las Vegas; man in custody
The man wanted by Turlock police in an alleged child abduction case was taken into custody in Las Vegas.
The 15-year-old girl he was with, Alexis Odisho, was found safe and will soon be reunited with her family.
Police also said that the suspect, Danniel Boone Morgan, is a police officer with Kiowa Police Department in Oklahoma and is on administrative leave. The circumstances of administrative status are unknown.
Odisho does not live in Turlock, but was there visiting family, said Sgt. Stephen Webb of the Turlock Police Department.
Turlock police sent out an alert Wednesday evening about the missing girl, saying she was with Morgan voluntarily, but classified the case as a child abduction.
The two were believed to be traveling in a 2013 Ford Mustang with Oklahoma or Louisiana license plates. Police said they felt the two could be headed to Southern California, Mexico or possibly Oklahoma.
Odisho has other relatives in Bakersfield and out of state, possibly Oklahoma. Morgan is from Oklahoma.
