Stanislaus Coroner’s Office identifies Turlock man killed in crash
The Turlock man who died in a collision west of Turlock on Saturday morning has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Saul Alvarez-Olivera, 37.
The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. at Crows Landing Road and Linwood Avenue.
A California Highway Patrol news release says Alvarez-Olivera was driving west on Linwood in a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, approaching the Crows Landing intersection.
Robert Paul Boykin, 53, of Gilroy was driving north on Crows Landing Road, approaching Linwood, in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
Alvarez-Olivera failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection at the same time as Boykin’s truck, according to the CHP. The two pickups collided, and Alvarez-Olivera died at the scene.
Boykin and his passenger, Ronda Boykin, 51, were taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of what the CHP listed as minor injuries.
