Victim seriously injured in Turlock stabbing, police say. Witnesses ID suspect

Turlock police are looking for a man believed to have stabbed another on Tuesday night, causing potentially life-threatening injuries.

About 9:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault on the 3400 block of West Monte Vista Avenue in which the victim was stabbed, Sgt. Michael Parmley said Wednesday morning. The 49-year-old man, whose city of residence was not immediately available, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Witnesses told officers the name of the man who allegedly stabbed the victim, and said the two know each other, Parmley said.

“This incident appears to have occurred after an argument occurred between the victim and suspect, which escalated into a stabbing,” the sergeant told The Bee in a text. No further information was released.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org.
