Turlock man sentenced for exposing himself to Bay Area girls
A Turlock man was sentenced Wednesday to a year and a half in jail for exposing himself to a teenager and preteen girls in the Bay Area earlier this year.
Tajh Deshon Collins, 29, confronted a girl as she walked home from school in Daly City, south of San Francisco, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. Collins blocked the 17-year-old’s path and asked if she wanted to touch his genitals, prosecutors said.
She didn’t report the incident to police until Collins accosted her a second time on May 2, again as she was walking home from school, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Three days later, Collins exposed himself to 11- and 12-year-old girls who were riding their bicycles in the city of Millbrae, north of San Mateo, prosecutors said.
Collins was a Lyft driver in the Bay Area, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
In June, a San Mateo County sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle and driver that matched descriptions give by the victims. He wrote down the vehicle information and forwarded it to detectives. Collins was arrested about a month later.
In October, he pleaded no contest to three counts of lewd act with a child and was sentenced on Wednesday.
