Turlock man killed in shooting Monday night
A Turlock man died after being shot shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday, police reported Tuesday.
Police responded to Starr and North Denair avenues after receiving multiple calls of a shooting, Officer Mayra Lewis said.
Officers arrived to find a 38-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died.
The man has been identified, Lewis said, but his name is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
Nothing about the circumstances of the shooting was available Tuesday morning. “Investigators are still trying to contact witnesses in an effort to determined what occurred,” Lewis said.

“We don’t have any information at this point,” Navarro added Tuesday afternoon. “Most of our detectives are out there. … We’re asking the public to come forward” with anything people may have seen, heard or know about the case, he said.
