Turlock shooting victim expected to recover

The victim in a shooting late Thursday afternoon is an 18-year-old male who suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, officer Mayra Lewis, Police Department spokeswoman , said Friday morning.

The shooting occurred about 5 p.m. in the 900 block of North Olive Avenue near Canal Drive, a few blocks from downtown. North Olive was closed between Canal and Wayside drives.

No further information was available Friday morning, as “investigators are still trying to piece everything together,” Lewis said.
