Denair student airlifted after struck by car while riding bike
DENAIR A student was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning while riding to school on a bicycle.
The accident occurred near the south corner of Lester Road and Monte Vista Avenue, just south of Denair High School, said Denair Unified School District Superintendent Aaron Rosander. “The student was airlifted to a hospital for evaluation and treatment,” he told The Bee in an email.
He added that the youth was not a high school student.
The private Reyn Franca School is near the intersection, but staff there said the child is not one of their students.
“Though I have not received official word on the student’s condition, the injuries are not believed to be life threatening,” Rosander said. “This is all the information that our school district has at this time.”
