Man killed in crash near Turlock Lake identified
The man who died in a fiery crash near Turlock Lake last week was identified Tuesday as Marcelo Sanchez.
The 18-year-old Merced resident crashed into a utility pole on Hawkins Road about a mile north of East Keyes Road on Thursday.
When emergency personnel arrived, the Pontiac Sanchez was driving was on its roof and on fire. Sanchez died at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
