Arson suspect tells officer he 'wanted to get out some aggression'

Caught in the act of lighting a fence on fire, an arson suspect told Turlock Police he lit the fire because he “wanted to get out some aggression.”

Turlock Police Sgt. Russ Holeman said a witness reported seeing the man start the fire in the 200 block of North Golden State Boulevard at about 5:45 a.m. Thursday.

A Stanislaus State University Police Officer was the first on scene and witnessed the suspect lighting on fire a wooden post of a fence that surrounds a dirt field, Holeman said.

Turlock Police Officer Jordan Panella showed up next and, using the fire extinguisher in his patrol car, put out the fire.

Jesus Arteaga Villanueva, 36, was arrested on suspicion of arson.
