Modesto man dies from injuries in Highway 99 rollover crash in Turlock

A 33-year-old Modesto man died Tuesday from injuries he suffered in a rollover crash on southbound Highway 99 in Turlock.

The man was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner's Office as Edward Davis. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto after the 7:27 a.m. crash and died there about 2 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol report says Davis was going south in a 1999 Ford SUV when for undetermined reasons he lost control just north of the Monte Vista Avenue off ramp.

The vehicle rolled multiple times and Davis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

The off ramp was closed during the investigation and traffic backed up to Ceres. It reopened about 9 a.m.
