Man walking on Patterson Road south of Oakdale fatally struck, CHP reports
A man walking on Patterson Road south of Oakdale was struck and killed by a vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The preliminary investigation determined the man was heading west, within the roadway, when he was hit by the right front of a westbound 2011 Ford. The crash was west of Kaufman Road.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be positively identified but whose age is listed as 20 on a CHP news release, died at the scene.
The CHP says it is unknown yet if alcohol or drugs factored in the collision.
The 43-year-old Modesto man driving the Ford apparently was uninjured.
