Oakdale police seize 37 firearms during search of home
Oakdale police seized 37 firearms during a search of a home behind Oak Valley Hospital on Wednesday.
The search at the home on Mark Court was conducted as a followup to the arrest of Russel Middleton, 46, on Friday, according to a press release from the department.
Middleton allegedly fled from police on a motorcycle and was found hiding near an outbuilding in the area of Orange Blossom Road and Highway 108/120. He was charged Tuesday with reckless evading with a prior, driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said some of the 37 guns that were seized were stolen and some were illegally modified.
Middleton was rebooked on several felony weapons charges, and two more people who were at the home were arrested.
Melanie Howard, 48, and Dale Middleton, 72, were arrested on suspicion of related conspiracy and weapons charges.
