Prescott students show their strength in PE open house
At a recent open house, Prescott Junior High School students showcased their rigorous physical education. In the early 1970s, new PE teacher Mark Wilson, fresh from Army service, developed what could be called a boot camp with a heart at the school. Current PE teacher Kris Lindberg said the program, based on “work ethic and integrity,” was modeled after a program at La Sierra High School in Sacramento but “pared down” to be better suited for junior high students. It’s been adjusted over the years, she said.
