Modesto schools host college information night

Modesto City Schools college counselors will hold a College Night on Tuesday at Downey High School with information for families and college representatives available to answer questions.

The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Downey auditorium, 1000 Coffee Road. Translation and child care will be provided.

College counselors will talk about meeting college entry requirements, filling out applications, how to apply for financial aid and scholarships, and pre-college tests such as the ACT and SAT.

Representatives of the University of California and California State University systems, Modesto Junior College and St. Mary’s College of California will also make presentations.

There will be a drawing for one Kaplan Test Prep course offering unlimited access to SAT/ACT/PSAT prep until December of the student’s senior year, donated by Kaplan Test Prep.
