Test tubes, microscopes and a tortoise named Thomas Jefferson helped children learn at Science Day, which took place Saturday at California State University, Stanislaus. The free event offered hands-on activities and tours that offered insight into biology, chemistry, math, nursing, physics, child development and more, explained by Stan State faculty and students. The event was put on with help from several university groups and the Enochs High School biotechnology club from Modesto.
