Careers in human services event at Modesto Junior College
The Human Services Program at Modesto Junior College is sponsoring a spring 2015 orientation at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Forum Building, room 101, on the east campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto.
The free event will showcase the degrees, certificates of achievement and skills recognition awards available to students in human services, chemical dependency counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation and gerontology.
MJC’s chemical dependency counseling program meets requirements to take the state Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs licensing exam. Additionally, the nine-unit skills recognition award in psychosocial rehabilitation allows students to become eligible to sit for the state exam for certification as psychosocial rehabilitation practitioners.
Representatives from Stanislaus County and organizations in behavioral health care, chemical dependency counseling, children and family services, and interrelated fields will provide information about volunteer or internship opportunities and the services they provide.
For more information on the MJC Human Services spring 2015 orientation, call Kimberly Kennard, MJC professor of human services, at (209) 575-6864.
