High-soaring students at Beyer High School were rewarded with a performance by high-flying stunt bicyclists at a rally Wednesday afternoon. The BMX Pros Trick Team entertained about 800 students at the school’s first-quarter Renaissance Rally. The teens – about 46 percent of the student body – had earned Renaissance status for academic achievement and outstanding contributions to Beyer. Criteria include grades, lack of absences and tardies, citizenship marks and more. Because the sky was clear enough and the ground dry enough, the show was on the blacktop at the back of the school. Had the weather been poor, the show would have been scaled down to take place in the gym.
