Modesto City Schools seeks parents for oversight committee
Modesto City Schools is looking for parents to help oversee district progress in putting community goals into action with its local control funding. The deadline to apply is Nov. 30.
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee will provide feedback on the goals outlined in its LCAP and provide advice to the Board of Education regarding annual revisions to the plan. Parent members chosen for this committee will be asked to gather input and observations from fellow parents and guardians, and to share those responses during monthly meetings. Translation will be provided as needed.
The district is looking for parent applicants who represent the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of the community, and with children in the wide array of programs and services provided by the district.
The first meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the district office staff development rooms. The committee will meet monthly through April.
