Sylvan, other districts start school year

More districts’ school years started today as classroom doors opened for students in Sylvan, Ripon, Escalon, Stanislaus Union, Chatom, Denair, Hughson and Salida. Turlock students return to school Thursday, as do those in the Paradise, Hickman, Gratton, Knights Ferry and Keyes school districts. Later starts will be Aug. 18 for Hart-Ransom students and Aug. 19 for most kids in Tuolumne County. Aug. 24 will start fall classes for Shiloh School and area colleges: Modesto Junior College, Columbia College and California State University, Stanislaus.
