It’s almost back-to-school season in Stanislaus County.

Public school districts in the Modesto area are gearing up for the 2024-2025 academic year. While some students are preparing to hit the books soon, others still have a bit more time to savor the last days of summer vacation.

When is the first day of school?

Here are some key dates for parents of children attending elementary, middle and high schools in and around Stanislaus County:

When is the first day of school in Modesto? Stanislaus County?

According to the Stanislaus County Office of Education, there are 25 public school districts serving students in transitional kindergarten through 12th grade.

Here’s when classes begin for each district, according to their websites:
