Power outage shuts down Stanislaus State Turlock campus on Friday
The Turlock campus for California State University, Stanislaus, closed Friday due to a power outage.
The campus shut down at 11:40 a.m. on the last day of classes, according to the university’s website. Remote operations continued. Campus should open on Monday when final exams begin, according to an email sent to students and staff.
“We are investigating and following our power outage protocols,” the email said.
The outage did not appear to be related to Turlock Irrigation District. It did not affect Zoom or learning management systems Canvas and Moodle, the university’s email said.
Departments instructed to stay open include the University Police Department, Housing & Residential Life, Office of Information Technology and Capital Planning & Facilities Management. Essential on-campus employees were told to consult with their supervisor.
Students and staff should check their emails for updates over the weekend.
