Stanislaus County schools reported 267 COVID-19 cases last week, according to the Health Services Agency.

Cases in schools have topped 200 each week in October, whereas the weekly tally surpassed 300 cases during much of September, the dashboard shows. High school students continue to account for the largest share of cases, and staff the smallest.

Schools reported 12 outbreaks and 12 active clusters, up from eight and seven, respectively, the week before. An outbreak is three cases linked to the same exposure, and a cluster is two cases linked to the same exposure.

Public health officials identified 119 instances being “monitored for additional cases,” up from 94 recorded during the previous reporting period.

About 150 students or staff were isolating as of Wednesday, according to the dashboard. Nearly 1,200 people were in an at-home or modified quarantine.

From Oct. 16-22, Modesto City Schools recorded 57 cases among students, about 20 more than the previous week, according to the district’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The district noted just five cases among staff. Combined, these cases account for 0.197% of the district’s population, the dashboard shows.

Since school began Aug. 9, 723 Modesto City students and 95 employees have contracted COVID-19, according to the dashboard.

In the same time frame, Turlock Unified School District reported 35 student cases, or 11 less than the previous week, and 14 staff cases, according to the district’s COVID-19 data dashboard.

About 400 students and staff were identified as close contacts, meaning they had to undergo various forms of quarantine depending on the circumstances of their exposure, vaccination status and consent to test on campus.

School leaders from smaller districts have told The Bee they are not able to maintain a public COVID-19 data display because of limited staffing resources.

Several districts have created data displays since the school year began. Here are other K-12 school districts in Stanislaus County that The Bee knows to have COVID-19 dashboards:
