Denair High School grads receive diplomas in drive-through ceremony
Because of coronavirus social distancing, graduating seniors stayed in their cars with family members during the commencement ceremony and received their diplomas in a drive-through procession in Jack Lytton stadium in Denair on Friday, May 23, 2020.
In a news release, Kara Backman, who took over as principal four years ago when this year’s graduates were freshmen, said she is impressed with how the seniors adapted to this year’s extraordinary circumstances. “This is the class I started with, so I’m really close with them,” she said. “They’re just a good group of kids. They’re going to be very successful. They’re very motivated.”
The graduation ceremony can be viewed on the Facebook page of Denair High School.
