‘Indoctrinate U,’ a film on campus censorship, at Modesto Junior College today
Modesto Junior College Young Americans for Liberty will show “Indoctrinate U,” a film about political correctness and censorship on college campuses, at 5 p.m. today, April 15, on the MJC East Campus, Forum Building Room 101, 435 College Ave., Modesto.
This community event will feature students discussing censorship on campus, including their own experiences. A panel following the event will also allow for debate and discussion of the ideas presented in the film and by the students of the panel. The event is free. On-campus parking costs $2.
“Filmmaker Evan Coyne Maloney is funny, which is good, because otherwise, the politically correct idiocies he documents would make me cry. The panel discussion following should be interesting also, since it’s still technically legal to exercise free speech, even though many of our colleges seem to be suffering from constitutional memory loss.” said Leslie Beggs, an adjunct English professor at MJC.
“Students need to be made aware of their rights and the problems that they face on campus,” said Niki Milligan, vice president of Young Americans for Liberty. “This event gives them the chance to explore the freedoms we hold dear as well as debate and discuss their importance.”
