Modesto Junior College sets day for one-stop enrollment
Modesto Junior College will host a New Student Day to enroll high school seniors and others at 8 a.m. April 18 in the main auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on the east campus, 435 College Ave. Attendance and campus parking are free.
New Student Day is the only time students can go through all the enrollment steps of application at once: student orientation; testing for placement in math, reading and English classes; and educational advising.
There will be sessions during the event demonstrating use of the online PiratesNet to search the class schedule, set up fall classes and access student email. Campus tours will be available. Parent sessions will provide information and time for questions.
High school seniors are encouraged to get started on the enrollment process before attending the New Student Day by filling out an online application in advance. Online applications are available by clicking on the orange “Apply to MJC Now” button at the top on the MJC website, www.mjc.edu.
MJC also is visiting area high schools to assist seniors in the process of enrolling and gaining priority registration. Students who have already completed an application, orientation and assessment before arriving at New Student Day will be able to go directly to the final step: educational advising.
“Attending the New Student Day is one of the best ways for incoming students to get their college education off to a great start,” said Flerida Arias-Zaragoza, director of TRiO Pre-College Programs at MJC.
Registration for MJC summer session is already underway, and fall class registration begins May 4. For more information, call (209) 575-6789.
