Modesto man arrested for robbery of food, cigarettes
A Modesto man was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of robbing a west Modesto gas station and threatening the employee with a knife.
At about 6 a.m., the suspect walked into the Texaco Gas Station at 937 Paradise Road and grabbed food and cigarettes, according to Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.
When told by an employee that he needed to pay for the items the suspect pulled out a knife. The suspect walked out of the store with the food and cigarettes.
The suspect was found a short time later in front of a business in the 600 Block of Paradise Road.
Richard Warner, 44, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and exhibiting a deadly weapon. He also had a warrant for domestic violence warrant.
