Five people were arrested on suspicion of auto theft in Stanislaus County from June 9-15.


SUSPECT: Matthew Jesse Davis, 31, of Modesto

DAY ARRESTED: June 9, 2016

ARRESTING AGENCY: Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force

CHARGES: Vehicle theft, ex-felon with a firearm, theft or extortion involving motor vehicle/trailer, receiving known stolen vehicle, second-degree burglary, grand theft

SUSPECT: Alberto Farias Salas, 26, of Turlock

CHARGES: Auto theft, receiving stolen property, ex-felon with firearm, delaying/obstructing officer in performance of duty, possession of controlled substance, probation violation, discharging firearm, vandalism of $400 or more, second-degree burglary, possession of check in order to defraud


SUSPECT: Eric Dwight Shirley, 26, of Modesto

DAY ARRESTED: June 16, 2016

ARRESTING AGENCY: Modesto Police Department

CHARGES: Vehicle theft, attempt to receive property, possession of burglary tools, probation violation
